GhettoBlaster (formerly known as Lancaster GhettoBlaster) began in the winter of 2016 as a "supergroup" composed of Lincoln, Nebraska-based pro and semi-pro musicians that play regularly in cover and original acts whom shared a love for old skool hip hop. The fuse was by band founder, Lee Bowes, who saw a niche unfilled by any Lincoln or Omaha band. With musicians of this caliber, the music came together quickly. Now would anyone come to see, feel and hear it?
When the natural draw of each member from their 'real' band met with the magnetic draw of this music genre, the turnout result was amazing! The band's first event saw a line out the door that forced some to wait an hour to enter! Bar sales at this event crushed all previous records for this venue. The second gig was in Omaha, about an hour from the band's home. Bar sales at that event were among the best in that bar's history. The band's third gig, it's second in Lincoln, sold one-third of the bar's capacity with advance ticket sales! This is unheard of for a cover band on a routine Friday night in Lincoln, Nebraska!
