Play Dead is comprised of veterans of the Lawrence, KS. music scene with very diverse backgrounds: Jazz, Afro-Beat, Alt Country, Singer-Songwriter, Blues, Funk, etc. who deliver a unique and dynamic presentation of the music of the Grateful Dead. Formed in 2014, and not content to be a theater recreation of the Grateful Dead, the band believes in allowing their individual voices and influences to shine and has been playing regularly in Lawrence and Kansas City patiently building the repertoire and tightening the screws in order to stand out and make their mark in a very crowded and competitive marketplace.
